    Newmarket Town FC's season so far went from bad to worse on Saturday afternoon when they conceded eight goals away to Brantham Athletic.     Newmarket Town FC started off 2012 in a similar way they ended 2011 by slumping to a Ridgeons Premier League defeat. On this occasion it was Wisbech Town FC who beat the Jockeys, with two goals in either half at the Fenland Stadium.     Newmarket Town FC lose 3-1 at home to Hadleigh United on their last match of 2011.
    Two goals from Lee McGlone helped Hadleigh United leave the Cricketfield Road ground with all three points on New Year's Eve.     Two goals from David Grainger helped Newmarket Town to recored a 2-1 victory away at Debenham LC. The win, which is only Newmarket's second of the season, is the Jockeys first in the Ridgeons Premier League since August 24th where they defeated rivals Mildenhall Town - a match featured on newmarkepeople.co.uk Newmarket currently sit fifth from bottom in the table after ten matches.

    Newmarket Racecourse has lost the famous Champions Day meeting to Ascot, although the course's managing director Stephen Wallis insists that this decision is for the good of the sport. The switch to Ascot is part of a brand new £13 million revamp for the sport set to come into force next year.
