Newmarket Library Issued With Closure Threat

Suffolk County Council has revealed that the library in the Guineas Shopping Centre could be closed in the near future.

Newmarket Library could soon be closed
The library, which costs around £390,000 a year to run, has been shortlisted as one of the 29 in Suffolk that could soon be shut down. There are currently 44 libraries in the county.
The Newmarket Journal has reported that talks have already taken place between the Town Council and the county authority about the future of the library.
