Newmarket's Pavements: Are they gritted enough?

Walking around Newmarket earlier today, it became apparent that a lot of the pavements are slippy.

Obviously the High Street is in good condition, but the pavements surrounding the shops are dangerous.

Areas that we found particularly slippy were the walkways near Waitrose and large parts of the Exning Road.

Should these paths being taken care of in these wintry conditions? After all, they are the main route for a lot of people into the shops and work.
