Newmarket Town FC spurned the chance to close the gap on Walsham-le-Willows towards the bottom of the Ridgeons Premier League by slipping to a 4-1 defeat against their Suffolk neighbours.

Visiting Walsham's goals came courtesy of Wayne Brown (2), former Mildenhall Town FC midfielder Ryan Foster and Ben Soanes.

The Jockeys could only manage one goal in reply, courtesy of young attacker James Attwood.

Newmarket have now conceded 91 goals in just 30 games. That is an average of just over three goals every time they take to the pitch.
