Parents that are hoping to get their children into their preferred school within the Newmarket area are being encouraged to submit the required application forms before the deadline on Friday, January 13.

As it stands, Suffolk County Council are unable to guarantee children a place in their particular catchment area. Therefore, parents are being advised to include more than one school on their applications.

Councillor Graham Newman told the Cambridge Evening News: "Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you make on their behalf.

"I would urge all parents and carers to make an application by the deadline to give them the best chance of securing a place at their preferred school.

"It is possible to list a maximum of three schools on their application form. I would strongly advise parents and carers to do this."

For those that are interested, you can apply online by following this link. Alternatively you can call 0845 6000981 to claim an application form.

Parents will be informed of the decision on April 17.

Good luck!

I hope local parents and children are not dissapointed in April. I don't have much faith in Suffolk County Council I am afraid.
